Philly Cheesesteak Stuffed Peppers

These Philly Cheesesteak Stuffed Peppers combine all the savory flavors of a classic sandwich—beef, mushrooms, and onions—stuffed into tender baked bell peppers and finished with melted mozzarella cheese.
🧾 Ingredients
Ingredient | Quantity |
---|---|
Bell peppers | 3 |
Ground beef | 1 lb |
Mushrooms, chopped | 8 oz |
Onion, chopped | 1 |
Ketchup | 2 tbsp |
Worcestershire sauce | 1 tbsp |
Beef broth | 1 cup |
Mozzarella cheese, shredded | 8 oz |
Salt and pepper | To taste |
🍳 Instructions
Step 1: Preheat and Prep Peppers
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the tops off the bell peppers and remove the seeds. Lightly brush the insides with oil and grease a small baking dish.
Step 2: Cook Beef and Onion
In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef with the chopped onion until the beef is browned and the onion softens. Drain any excess fat.
Step 3: Add Mushrooms and Seasonings
Stir in the chopped mushrooms, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, and season with salt and pepper.
Step 4: Simmer Filling
Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer and cook until most of the liquid is absorbed and the filling thickens, about 5–7 minutes.
Step 5: Stuff Peppers and Add Cheese
Fill each bell pepper with the beef mixture. Stand them upright in the prepared baking dish. Top generously with shredded mozzarella.
Step 6: Bake
Cover loosely with foil and bake for 45 minutes, or until peppers are tender. Remove the foil in the last 5–10 minutes if you prefer a golden, slightly browned cheese topping.
Step 7: Serve
Let the stuffed peppers cool slightly before serving and enjoy warm.
