I love making this in batches and using it all year long!

Homemade Sweet Chili Pineapple Sauce
This bright and flavorful sauce balances sweet, tangy, and mildly spicy notes. Crushed pineapple adds tropical sweetness and texture, complementing the heat of the chili sauce perfectly—ideal for dipping, glazing, or marinating.

Ingredients:

  • Crushed pineapple (drained) – 1 cup
  • Sweet chili sauce – 2/3 cup
  • Soy sauce – 2 tbsp
  • Rice vinegar – 1 tbsp
  • Brown sugar – 1 tbsp
  • Fresh ginger (minced) – 1 tsp
  • Garlic (minced) – 1 clove
  • Red pepper flakes (optional) – 1/4 tsp

Instructions:

  1. Prep Ingredients: Gather all ingredients and ensure the crushed pineapple is thoroughly drained.
  2. Combine in Saucepan: In a medium saucepan, combine the pineapple, sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, ginger, and garlic.
  3. Simmer: Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture comes to a gentle boil.
  4. Thicken: Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has reduced and thickened to your preferred consistency.
  5. Add Heat (Optional): For extra spice, stir in the red pepper flakes while simmering.
  6. Cool and Serve: Remove from heat and let the sauce cool slightly. It will thicken further as it cools. Serve as a dip, glaze, or marinade.
